Don 3 in the making!

With Don 2 just months away from its release, director-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar seems to have once again masked on his thinking cap. It is said that he has already started planning the third installment of the famous Don series.

Farhan ironically stated that just like it is impossible to catch Don, it is as nearly impossible to end the series as well. He went on to say that initially, there were no plans of making a sequel to Don, which in itself was a modern remake of the cult classic, but seeing all the love and gratitude from friends, family and audiences alike, the director decided to go ahead with it.

Don 2: The Chase Continues is ready to hit the silver screen on December 23^rd, 2011. The action-adventure flick stars sees the return of Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Om Puri, whilst Kunal Kapoor and Lara Dutta join as newbies.

A third installment before the release of the second? High ambitions Mr Akhtar! Nonetheless, we wish Don 2 and the coming sequels all the best.

Nargis Fakhri bags role in 'Krrish' sequel?

After several futile attempts pursuing Jacqueline Fernandez and Chitrangada Singh, actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has finally landed American model-turned actress, Nargis Fakhri, for the female-villain role in the upcoming installment of the super-hit Koi Mil Gaya series.

Nargis, who is currently excited with the release of her maiden Bollywood flick Rockstar , where she acts alongside Ranbir Kapoor, is apparently more than ready to essay this role opposite the Greek-God of Bollywood a.k.a Hrithik Roshan, and has readily given her nod.

After Chitrangada had turned down this offer due to it being just a cameo appearance and Jacqueline refused to kiss Hrithik on-screen, the offer fell into Nargis' hands, and if rumors are to be believed, she is more than happy to come on board!

Starring opposite Hrithik in her second film? Who wouldn't say yes?! We wish Ms Fakhri all the best , and cannot wait to see her grace the big screens soon!

Actress and mommy-to-be, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, turns 38 today!

The Bachchan bahu, who has taken a break from the shooting of her two projects - Rajkumar Santoshi's Ladies and Gentlemen (co-starring hubby Abhishek Bachchan) and Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine - until her due date, approximately in the last two weeks has been a no-show to fans for a while.

However, she was recently spotted looking radiant in pink as she welcomed guests to the Diwali party hosted at the Bachchan's household, Jalsa.

The 1st of November also marks the birthday of actress Padmini Kolhapure who turns 46 today, as well as writer and director Anees Bazmee.

Imran steps in for Devgn

Looking to replace Ajay Devgn? Imran Khan wouldn't be our first choice considering the stark difference in their images.

However, Vishal Bhardwaj, who had recently announced casting Ajay Devgn opposite Anushka Sharma in his next movie, has finalised Imran Khan as his new male lead when Ajay mysteriously opted out.

The comedy flick, titled Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, will see the pairing of Imran and Anushka for the first time. Nothing has currently been revealed of the script, although Vishal has admitted that it will now be tweaked to fit Imran's image better.

Imran is currently busy with two upcoming movies - Pasand Apni Apni, and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu which is due to release on February 10, 2012.

It's an interesting choice to make, but we're sure Imran will live up to all expectations.

Or so happens to think Imtiaz Ali, the vision behind blockbusters like Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal. This young ace behind the scenes follows his unique streak from the word go, this time, for the currently in-progress project, Rockstar.

Shortly after the posters with the first look of this Ranbir Kapoor starrer were released, the film-maker now brings out pencil sketch posters of three depictive stills, which have been re-mastered in Adobe Photoshop.

Katrina to do Item number in Agneepath!

After unexplored success with raunchy numbers such as "Sheila Ki Jawaani" and "Aaya Re Aaya Bodyguard", actress Katrina Kaif is gearing ready to shake new moves in Karan Johar's much anticipated film, Agneepath - a remake of yesteryear's film of same name starring mega star Amitabh Bachchan in one of his most remembered role of 'Vijay Deenanath Chauhan'.

News has it that this time around, she will be seen shaking a leg with Sanjay Dutt who consequently plays the bad man in the film named Kancha Cheena. This will be a first time audiences will witness Kat and Sanju Baba sharing screen space and apparently, just to match Kat's dancing skills, Sanju underwent two weeks special classes to rehearse his steps for the song!

The song is to be composed by the National Award winning duo, Ajay and Atul Gogavale, who also composed music for one of the years's biggest hits, the Ajay Devgn starrer Singham. Rumors have it that the said song will include a lift from the lines of "Jhuma Chooma Dede" from Mukul Anand's Hum.

Latest from the camp of this upcoming superhero flick is this bit of news. Shahrukh Khan will be seen paying a tribute to the Southern demi-God sensation, Rajnikanth, in 2011's eagerly awaited Christmas release, Ra.One.

Whilst rumours have done rounds, about some suspicious similarities between SRK's Ra.One and Rajnikanth's Endhiran, the buzz is being laid to rest with the King himself attesting that both the films are significantly different. He does add for good measure, about including a special tribute to Rajnikanth in the film.

Khan is heard to be quite on the high about the making of this movie; inclusive of every little technicality. In his 'publicly' expressed opinion, their team has managed to take technology to another level, setting an unprecedented in Bollywood.

Owing SRK's stardom and the strategic stay-in-news ways, Ra.One is easily among the most awaited movies released this year – here's hoping it lives up to the hype and more!

Anushka eager to join camp Salman!

Rumor has it that actress Anushka Sharma, who managed to make it big with her major BO success Band Baaja Baarat, is trying her best to join Bollywood's current BO-King Salman Khan's camp. Apparently, she wants to partake in the recent string of successful movies from the macho man and increase her already long list of much loved movies.

Seems like she is keen on working with Salman, who has two films lined up for Yashraj a.k.a Aditya Chopra's banner, which Anushka is a product of. She's been sending out feelers to everyone involved about her wish to star in one of those films opposite her current favorite leading man.

Sources close to the starlet reveal that she's been wanting to share screen space with Salman for quite sometime now. She doesn't want to miss the golden opportunity to work with him seeing as he has signed with the YRF banner. She is definitely not leaving any stone unturned to make it happen.

Her sudden interest may also be because of her rivalry with Sonakshi Sinha, who's really close to Khan. With their cold war of sorts over their boy-friend issues still unsettled, speculations exist that Anushka may just be trying to annoy her by being close to her mentor!

Genelia & Riteish starrer 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya'

The to-be married real life couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Dsouza fill in the gap of seven years and finally star together in the film called Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, produced by Tips Industries and Kumar Taurani.

It has been heard that Kumar is extremely happy with the way both of the actors compliment each other, with evidence that their off-screen camaraderie helped translate greatly on-screen. Earlier, he had stated that the lead character was written with only Riteish in mind and opposite him, they wanted someone who looked chirpy yet cute at the same time, as well an actress who would complement him perfectly.

Rishi and Ranbir share screen space for Pepsi!

BollyCurry recently reported Pepsi's plan to bring together the father son duo, Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor, for their upcoming advert. For the countless many in anticipation, here's more on the detailing.

The ad plays along the concept of Rishi disdainfully dismissing Ranbir's grand plan to become a 'Crorepati' (Millionaire), until the theme music for Kaun Banega Crorepati plays; and the ad consequently with a voiceover announcing "15 September Ko Pepsi Game Badle Ga".

Buddy and director Ayan Mukherji, from Ranbir's 2009 blockbuster Wake Up Sid, stepped forward to direct this new commercial which will air on TV come September 15th.

Rumours have been afloat in the market, of offers to sign this father-son duo for a movie being in plenty. If the advert sets any trends to go by, hopefully, the big screen too shall benefit in turn!

John and Vidya together again!

With John Abraham tipped off to play the role of gangster Manya Surve in the Shootout at Lokhandwala sequel, director Sanjay Gupta has been on the hunt for his leading lady. If rumours are to be believed, Gupta has set his heart on roping in accomplished bad girl of Ishqiya fame, Vidya Balan.

For the uninitiated, the duo was previously cast together as a sizzling on screen couple for multi-starrer Salaam-e-Ishq. However, the 2007 release was accompanied by talks of the two having a real life affair, and they haven't worked together since. With changed statuses - aka John being single - and Gupta's resolve to beg, borrow, steal or threaten and get Vidya on board - who knows?

The script has already been related to the actress who has just wrapped up shoots for The Dirty Picture by Milan Luthria and is currently in the middle of Sujoy Ghosh's Kahani.

If all goes to plan then Vidya will step into the role of Manya Surve's girlfriend who happens to be a widow with two children.

The other name already linked with this project is Anil Kapoor, and shooting is slated to start later in December this year.

Akshay & John's dangerous chopper stunt for Desi Boyz!

Akshay and John recently shot a risky stunt for the title track of their forthcoming film, Eros International's Desi Boyz, directed by Rohit Dhawan.

Director Rohit Dhawan wanted this particular shot (Akshay and John climbing down from a moving chopper in the sky) very badly for the title song of the film but he was worried for his actors because of the risk involved!

Akshay heard about it and immediately wanted to do it as he loves action. John do too loves action and wanted to give it a try. The helicopter stunt required them to do it without a harness. They were both in white and had to do it without harness as that would have shown in the close up shots. Despite being a very risky and dangerous shot where the actors had to step just out of the chopper mid –air with no strapping, both the actors were convinced about the shot and were very confident and insisted on going ahead with it. This was a one take shot!

Director Rohit Dhawan was very nervous about his actors doing something as risky as this but the two actors went ahead and did the shot confidently in a single take.

Is the Khan war leading towards an end?

The much rubbished and highly ridiculed Khan rivalry between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan now seems to be on a verge of a halt. For the uninitiated, The Khans (and the world) faced a high-pitched brawl at a birthday party hosted by Salman for his then lady love, Katrina Kaif, and what emerged was an out of control verbal war. The dispute reached such an extent that the outcome is still visible today.

However, it now seems like the cold war is slowly becoming a bygone. Once known as best buddies throughout Bollywood, the Khan duo obviously still look out for each other.

Be it Shahrukh praying his old-friend a speedy recovery or the latter wishing that SRK's Ra.One fetches better business than any of his films ever did, the two Khans make it obvious in one way or the other, that there is still some hope left in their reunion.

Although Salman refused to attach SRK's Don 2 trailors with his successful Bodyguard and proved yet again a well-known fact that he never is in a mood to forgive and forget, during Preity Zinta's chat show, Up, Close and Personal, she tried to make Salman fess up about the fall out between him and SRK. But, as always, the actor avoided the confession quite cleverly. And now that his surgery was declared a success in the US, Salman returned SRK's indirect wishes, whilst stating to a leading tabloid that he hopes Ra.One is a bigger hit than his Bodyguard.

Whatever the current friendship quotient is, Bollycurry wishes the Khans to let bygones be bygones and start afresh. Here's hoping they get back together soon!

Big B for The Great Gatsby!

Whilst many Bollywood stars have crossed the pond in the hopes of making their mark in Hollywood, none could make a bigger splash than superstar Amitabh Bachchan! You heard that right, AB himself all set to debut with his first main stream Hollywood movie - a big screen update on the literary classic, The Great Gatsby!

Directed by Oscar nominee Buz Luhrmann (of Moulin Rouge), the film has Bachchan Sr. playing the role of Jewish gambler Meyer Wolfsheim. Leonardo DiCaprio will essay the lead role of Jay Gatsby, true to the original novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

For the uninitiated, The Great Gatsby follows struggling writer Nick Carraway, who chases the American Dream to New York City in the jazz and bootleg era of 1922. He lands next door to mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby with his cousin Daisy and her philandering husband, Tom Buchanan, in tow. Inspired by their lifestyle, Carraway pens the captivating world of the super-rich and the desires, deceptions and deceits that binds them all.

Joining Bachchan and DiCaprio are Tobey Maguire (as Nick Carraway), Carey Mulligan and Joel Edgerton as the Buchanans, as well as stars like Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke and newcomer Elizabeth Debicki.

The film will be shot in Luhrmann's native, Austraila, and with superstar Amitabh Bachchan already ruling Bollywood, we have no doubt he will make just as great an impression overseas.

Here's wishing Mr. Bachchan all the very best in this venture, and that it soon makes it's way to the big screen!

Katrina cares for Sallu!

There has been buzz in recent weeks over some uncharacteristic rejections from Brit babe Katrina Kaif, including Ayan Mukherjee's next featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash Raj's Dhoom 3 with Aamir Khan!

One has surely got to wonder why! In her defense, she does have a very intriguing reason.

In the case of Dhoom 3, Kat did not accept the offer to begin with - quoting date clashes. On the other hand, she did give an initial nod for Ayan's project, but later withdrew claiming yet more date issues. Apparently, it all stems from Kaif learning about Salman Khan suffering from a nerve disorder which is being treated in the United States at the moment.

Whether her concern finds inception in the capacity of being his ex-flame, or still a good friend is debatable; but Katrina is sure going out of her way to ensure she keeps her dates open for whenever Sallu is up for shooting for Ek Tha Tiger.

Her concern has taken a suspicious form of worry, which is reflecting even in her promotional campaigns for upcoming release, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. The actress is heard to be having a hard time keeping pleasant public appearances for the same.

They may have parted ways, but Kat and Sallu have mostly shown admirable amicability towards each other even post the split. Is there a chance of reviving what they once had?!

Father Son Team up!

B-Town producers have always shown a penchant for roping in real life father son duos for reel portrayals. One such pair not seen in a single frame till date is of Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. However, that prospect is going to change. The duo will soon be seen in a beverage commercial together.

If rumours are to be believed, Ranbir loved the idea and thus, took it to his father. Daddy Cool that Rishi is, he approved of the creative concept and gave his ready nod.

Daddy Dhoom To Multitask!

It's going to be a busy year for Abhishek Bachchan. Not only will he become a daddy for the first time, but AB Junior is also scheduled to shoot for some big banner films.

Presently shooting for Bol Bachchan with South Indian beauty, Asin, Abhi will next start preparing for Dhoom 3 in November - the very month that his lovely wife expects their first born.

Initial reports had claimed that Bachchan's paternity leave had been approved by the responsible YRF production house. However, when the actor's leave was found to clash with Aamir Khan's dates for Dhoom 3, Aditya Chopra had to request Abhi to reconsider and work around the dates somehow.

According to various sources, AB Junior has complied willingly, empathizing with the problem, and has taken back his leave. On a mutual understanding, he will take a few days off around the point of delivery itself.

Becoming Daddy may be no easy feat - but Abhishek sure seems to be on the right track with his balancing act!

Manisha's enemy - her husband

Despite assurances that she is happy with husband Samrat Dahal, former actress Manisha Koirala seems to paint a different picture on her Social Networking site 'Facebook' profile, as she hints a decline in the bonding second time.

Following her summer marriage in June last year, the actress originally took to Facebook in a burst of anger in November when insinuation of a separation from businessman Dahal seemed evident, although she added her apprehensions about hurting her parents. Almost immediately however the message was taken down, and 'redeemed' with a hasty apology confessing she wrote 'silly things' when in a temper.

Now again, her latest message reads ' "My husband has become my enemy ' how much worst can it become for a woman?" - a blatant comment that cannot stand easily dismissed.

Inside sources have varying theories to offer. Some have claimed that the disagreements between the two have arisen due to the actress's drinking habits whilst others have put it down to the seven year age gap between the two and consequent difference in their perception and handling of life.

As of yet the actress has made no further comment to add to, or take back her last controversial statement.

Lets Party With Ganesh Hedge

Ganesh Hedge, who made music lovers go crazy with his debut "Main Deewana" back in 2005, is inviting everyone to party with him. Reason? The singer cum choreographer will soon release his second much-awaited album, "Let's Party". However, the biggest surprise comes in the form that several songs will have hotties of B-Town: Hrithik, Katrina, Bipasha and and Priyanka shaking a leg with the multi-talented popstar!

The launch of the video was as expected, a star studded event with none other than the King Khan gracing the launch. For the uninitiated, Ganesh and Shahrukh are well acquainted - apart from choreographing SRK's songs and shows, Ganesh also lent his voice for the title song of KBC Season 3 which was hosted by himself, not to mention that SRK also attended Ganesh's debut release event.

Ganesh, who has been noted as the only Indian pop act to produce, write, direct and choreograph his own music with his debut album "G", believes that the once hyped-over pop culture of India is now on the verge of extinction and the star hopes to revive it back to it's former glory.

Salman Khan: Bikes and Burns!

It has not only helped him give the traffic a beat, but has also helped him catch up on his workouts by exercising for an average of an hour or two everyday! Don 2 Goes 3D!

The much anticipated Shah Rukh Khan starrer Don 2 got even better!

After receiving rave reviews to the screening of its first theatrical trailers, the Don 2 makers, producer Ritesh Sidwani and Farhan, have decided to convert the final film into a 3-D format along with the regular format!

An excited Sidwani was heard to claim that just as a test they converted Farhan's original Don into 3-D and found the outcome to be extremely impressive. Now given all the hype for this Christmas time release, and the raise in anticipation after the first promo, the Don 2 team finds it only fair to add more to the experience for the audience.

In addition to the 3-D formatting, Don 2 is also going to be dubbed into Tamil and Telegu for exclusive South releases.

Watch out for Don 2, the promising sequel to Excel Entertainment's 2006 blockbuster, slated to release this December 23rd. Here's hoping the new 3D technology helps pave the way for a Don 3!

FIRST LOOK: The Dirty Picture

BollyCurry brings to you the First Look of the much awaited movie The Dirty Picture, directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor and mom Shobha Kapoor. The movie is all set to to be a winter 2011 release with a scheduled release date of 2^nd December.

The flick stars Vidya Balan in the role of Southern siren Late Silk Smitha. She is portrayed in quite a sensual pose complete with a bright red blouse, red lip-stick, hooded come-hither eyes and plenty of skin! She is also surrounded quite intimately by two actors - Nasseeruddin Shah, playing the role of an aging south star, and Tusshar Kapoor, who is the writer for Smitha's films and her love-interest in the movie. Emraan Hashmi, who has as of yet an unspecified role in the movie, is also seen on the cover in a staid and calculating look, dressed in black including a pair of black glasses.

The film will focus on the life of the actress - her journey to success and the solitude leading to her tragic death.

Shocking everyone, actress Celina Jaitly recently announced her wedding on Twitter. Not the date; but the fact that she has tied the knot with Dubai-based Austrian businessman and hotelier, Peter Haag, on July 23rd in Austria!

The couple, who had earlier announced their decision to marry on September 23rd in Egypt (where she is the brand ambassador for tourism) despite the unrest in the city; performed a quiet ceremony due to a family tragedy.

Currently the actress is linked to the Hollywood project, Quest of Scheherzade, where she will play a Persian Princess alongside Sean Connery and Orlando Bloom.

Ranbir's bike scare on the sets of Rockstar!

Hearthrob Ranbir Kapoor had the fright of his life when he had to shoot a bike sequence with newbie Nargis Fakhri for Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision and Eros International's 'Rockstar'. Because he was required to ride pillion with Nargis who had just learnt riding a bike barely half an hour ago!

Apparently, Director Imtiaz wanted to shoot a sequence involving Nargis riding a bike with Ranbir sitting behind. Since Nargis had never ridden one, Imtiaz asked his team to teach Nargis.

To everyone's surprise, after just half an hour of practice, Nargis claimed that she could manage riding and was ready for the shot. Ranbir however, expressed his concern, wondering how Nargis could learn riding a bike in just 30 minutes! But the crew members all backed Nargis and said that she had indeed picked up really fast and was ready to shoot. That's when poor Ranbir started praying for his life!

Everyone present couldn't help but chuckle at Ranbir's obvious reluctance. However, once the shoot commenced, Ranbir realized that Nargis was indeed a fast learner and was handling the bike quite comfortably. That's when he relaxed and eventually enjoyed his short spin with Nargis!

Shahid clears the air!

Known to always be in the news for being linked up with almost all of his co-stars, Shahid Kapoor is back in the news again but this time, for a different reason. Why hasn't he been linked up with Sonam Kapoor?

From being formal co-actors, to a sharing love-hate relationship, to being the best buddies on the block, Shahid and Sonam's relationship has definitely been a roller coaster ride.

The duo started shooting for the much anticipated Mausam about a year and half ago. Rumor mills had it that the two Kapoors didn't really get along with each other. Other reports even stated that Sonam showed excessive diva-type behavior on the sets like showing up late, throwing tantrums etc. However, Shahid had a different story to tell. The actor denied every speculation. More so, he went on to call the elegant actress sweet and friendly.

When questioned about Sonam's tantrums, the actor replied saying he'd gladly make a movie out of it as it provided a convincing script! He went on to clarify that the so-called 'tantrums' were a great work of fiction, like most movies! He even added that he can't thank her enough for being a part of a film that means so much to him and if it works out, he would love to work with her once again!

Well now that all rumors are put aside by Shahid himself, here's wishing Sonam and Shahid a lot of success for their much awaited venture!

The Return of the PZ!

When the cute and the lively Preity Zinta decided that IPL was her calling, hearts shattered. Not because she was to own an IPL team and putting all her time and energy towards cricket, but because it meant an extended hiatus from the movie industry. Nonetheless, she decided to move on and Bollywood lost yet another fine actress!

For the uninitiated, her last full fledged role in a Bollywood film was that of Alvira Khan in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom back in 2007.

But now, due to popular demand from fans and the fraternity alike, the versatile Preity has decided to make a comeback to acting to spread joyous smiles once again!

Earlier this year, Preity appeared on the reality show Guinness Book of World Records - Ab India Todega as a host. The appearance definitely delighted her fans but the show soon ended and the happiness in seeing her back on screen ended too. However, Preity promised to be back at work from mid-2011 and here she is!

Preity Zinta will now be seen hosting another show, a celebrity chat show this time, on the newly launched channel - "UTV Stars - the official channel of Bollywood" titled Up, Close and Personal with PZ. Promos of the show are even already on air!

And if the grapevine is to be believed, then many episodes with Preity's closest B-wood friends have already been shot! Digging up further, the 'revealed' guest list as of now includes some of Bollywood's biggies - Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Bobby Deol, Abhishek Bacchan, Farhan Akhtar, Akshay Kumar and Shahrrukh Khan.

With certain speculations arising about, whether she is or she isn't, the former Miss Universe and versatile actress, Lara Dutta, clarified that she indeed is in the family way!

Not only has she announced that she's expecting, rather she seems mighty-excited about it.

In a recent film-based interview, Lara put all the speculations to an end. She also said that she and her Tennis-player better half, never denied the news but thought to disclose it only when the time felt right.

Ask her if this would mean that film's will struggle to get into her priority list, Lara is quick to retort that she would never stop doing what gives her immense happiness and something that she enjoys doing the most. Right now the actress is awaiting the release of Don 2.

While their film Lafangey Parindey didn't impress the audience as much as they expected, it seems that off-screen, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone still share a special bond.

Recently, Neil made a statement that he'd be the first person to show up at Deepika's doorstep if she was single. When Deepika was asked to make a comment back on Neil's statement, the actress quickly quips that she didn't know what was stopping him.

It seems like Neil took this statement of hers an opportunity and gallantly showed up on her doorstep one morning with a red rose. Zeenat outshines Mahima at IIJW

Even at 59, Zeenat Aman can put any youngster to shame. The veteran actress, who walked the ramp at the ongoing India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), mesmerised audiences and won more applause than the much younger actress Mahima Chaudhary, who was also the show-stopper for the same show.

Mahima was the first to strut down the ramp in a black and red saree, sporting an elaborate gold and diamond neckpiece for Sawansukha Jewellers.

But when Zeenat made an appearance wearing a black and gold anarkali dress and a diamond and ruby set, the audience broke into applause. She dazzled everyone with her elegance, confident walk and endless charm.

Talking about the jewellery that she was sporting, Zeenat said: 'It's intricately crafted with diamonds and a ruby and I think it will be appropriate for a wedding or something.'

The show presented the collection Celestial Divas, that was inspired by the beauty and purity of gems. The bridal collection showcased different jewellery pieces like neckpieces, bangles, earrings and armlets.

For their much anticipated onscreen project together, Ek Tha Tiger, it appears that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will be returning to 'college'!

The chosen campus to meet the script's requirements is of the prestigious Trinity College in Dublin - but are the institutional admin willing to grant permission? Apparently, the matter is not so slick! While the cast and crew, including Sallu and Kat, have received a nod for their proposal, a simultaneous condition has been levied on them by the authorities, which requires for Khan and Kaif to enroll in a real class or two while on campus!

Authentic much?! Well, the admin cites its reasons for such an unusual demand. It so happens that the said Trinity College is not as impressed with Bollywood as many other international communities prove to be. Having explicitly described the strict decorum of their institute, the admin have emphasized their intolerance for obtrusive behavior - and want the actors to adhere to the rules by formally enrolling as students.

Director Kabir Khan, despite this inconvenient condition has agreed to comply by the authorities, mostly because he was not keen on shooting his movie in a typical college campus like Oxford or Cambridge.

Causes irrespective - this consequence of bringing Salman and Kat back together, not just onscreen, but as formal 'classmates' sounds like an interesting event to unfold, in days to come! For updates - watch this space!

Riding high on the BO success of his recently released already blockbuster film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara's, Hrithik Roshan is not sitting back to take a break, but has moved right back to his home production to start working on the next project. Which just happens to be the much awaited sequel of Kkrish, which was a sequel of Koi... Mil Gaya - the famous fantasy series from the Roshan camp. Even as the movie is in its early making stages, bids on its release are sky high.

Director Rakesh Roshan banking on the same, has sold out the music of the film, composed by Rajesh Roshan, to T-Series for 6 crore, also selling these rights to multiple distributors and channels.

Sanjay''s ''Agneepath'' look revealed on 52nd birthday

Mumbai, July 29 (IANS) On Sanjay Dutt's 52nd birthday Friday, filmmaker Karan Johar revealed the actor's bald, fearsome look in his forthcoming remake of 1990 film 'Agneepath'.

Sanjay essays the role of the villain, Kancha. True to his character, the actor looks quite evil in his bald avatar, a silver ring on top of his left ear and a black outfit, with puffed up eyes. The actor also looks quite beefed up, and sports a wicked smile.

The original 'Agneepath' featured Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, while Danny Dengzongpa essayed the villain's part.

Now, Hrithik Roshan has been roped in for the lead role in the new film, which is being directed by Johar's former assistant Karan Malhotra. Hrithik's look was unveiled much before, through a still which had the 37-year-old wearing a red vest, jeans and a bandana, which read 'Govinda Mahautsav'.

Actress Priyanka Chopra will be seen as the female lead in the movie, set for release Jan 13, 2012.

Ranbir Kapoor the once upon a time self claimed Casanova, of late has been trying hard to pull through the playboy image and project absolute professionalism. However, past has its ways of rounding up - and rumors of being linked with every second debuting starlet refuse to be put down!

Grapevine this time is abuzz with news of the Kapoor scion and his growing affections for none other than the Luv Ka The End star - Shraddha Kapoor; who also happens to be the daughter of ace actor Shakti Kapoor.

Inside sources rattle of the same old story, about Ranbir spending more than casual time with Shraddha. Additionally they allege Ranbir's having asked director-cum-buddy Ayan Mukherjee to cast the Kapoor girl of Teen Patti fame in his upcoming untitled project. But the actually surprising bit of gossip has to be that which claims that Ranbir has currently set Shraddha Kapoor's picture as the wallpaper in his cell phone!

When questioned about her bonding with Ranbir, Shraddha on her part rubbished the rumors and asked people to stop linking her with the actor, who although, she still claimed, is a fantastic guy.

Noted painter and legend in his field, Maqbool Fida Hussain passed away today of a heart attack in Royal Brampton Hospital, London.

A contemporary and progressive artist, Hussainji has had phenomenal contribution in bringing India to actually feature as a significant contributor in the field of art over his years of creativity. However, due to the infamous controversy, arising from his disputed dishonorable paintings of some Hindu deities, the iconic artist had spend the last years of his life in a self imposed exile since 2006, on foreign soil. Despite his more recent efforts to return to the land of his birth, where he is heard to have wanted to breathe his last, Hussain was not granted permission owing security matters and politico miscellanea.

At his demise however, PM Manmohan Singh and President Smt. Pratibha Patil have expressed deep grief, lamenting the loss as 'national'.

M.F. Hussain has given Bollywood critically acclaimed although scantily popular works like Gaja Gamini (starring his long time muse Madhuri Dixit) and Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities (starring Tabu, and a debut for actor Kunal Kapoor). Passing away today, at the age of 95 years, from a bout of illness that the renowned artist was suffering from for a month now, he leaves behind, many with heavy hearts in tinsel town.

Deepika's Kitchen Troubles!

Deepika Padukone was left in a spot of bother recently when director Prakash Jha asked the leggy beauty to make use of her culinary skills in the kitchen.

For a scene in her much awaited film Aarakshan, co-starring a whole host of stars including Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan, Deeps was asked to make perfect, round rotis - a task that left the actress utterly stumped.

DP, who claims to be a decent cook otherwise, finds making rotis a challenge, and was hence put to spot when presented with loose flour. The actress tried to wriggle out of her embarrassing ordeal by requesting another dish to be made, but Jha was adamant over rotis being it for the scheduled scene.

With no choice but to proceed, Dippy went on with the scene, producing rotis of all shapes and sizes, save those of round. After futile many attempts had been made and Deepika was clouded in flour, Chotte Nawab Saif (from a chuckling audience of crews), offered to pit in assistance but found no better luck himself. It was finally Jha to the rescue who swept in after much amusement and taught Deeps the needful.

Our say to Jha?! Exploit Dippy's forte in tattoos, eye candies, and talk shows; for the lesser tasks, how about trying tricks of the lens and trusted body doubles next time?!

KJo, Bhansali Break Ice!

The verbal war between ace directors Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali that had ensued post the release of latter's Ranbir and Sonam starrer Saawariya, is widely known. The inception of this estrangement between the two was Johar making a joke about the movie being a "blue film", a remark that did not go down casually well with Bhansali; who went on to vent his anger via public media. Karan did not take it sitting down from there either, going on to say that anyone who uses media as a means of communicating, is not a friend of his and that Bhansali needs to lighten up a bit more!

More recently, the cold and hot vibes between these two leading men have begun to fade out. Ver recently, everything was put aside as KJo and Bhansali came together once again on the sets of popular reality show 'X-factor'. Karan, while praising the show for being the best talent show, also had only good words to say for the three judges - Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam and yes, the infamous foe, Bhansali. So generous was Karan in making up for the differences, that he pronounced Bhansali one of the greatest directors in the industry, and then gave the man a hug.

And so bygones were set to be bygones. The show proceeded with Karan announcing to give the winner a chance to sing for one of his upcoming films, and when host, Aditya Narayan, shared this news with the top 12 contestants, their excitement soared higher than ever.

Happy Birthday Sonam Kapoor!

Born as daughter of veteran actor Anil Kapoor on June 9, 1985, Sonam Kapoor is not just a star kid, but one who is making it big, and making it fast! As a Kapoor girl in this family, she is also niece to famous producer Boney Kapoor, and his much loved wife Sridevi, along with being aunt to their two lovely daughters; and niece of actor Sanjay Kapoor and producer Sandeep Marwah.

Sonam is eldest among her three siblings - with younger sister Rhea who has also made her start in Bollywood behind the scenes producing in Daddy Anil's home productions; and a brother Harshvardhan.

What maybe lesser known, is the fact that like Rhea, Sonam too kick started her career behind the screen; acting came second for her first Bollywood project was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black, for which she became his assistant. Not having groomed herself in her younger years with the mindset of becoming an actress one day, it too quite a bit of convincing from many quarters, along with major appearance transformations, before Sonam made her debut onscreen in the movie Saawariya, also a Bhansali film, opposite the hot hunk and then debuting, Ranbir Kapoor. The movie unfortunately flopped at BO, but it earned both the newcomers a niche in the industry for their respective selves.

Second time round, Sonam worked with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in the movie Delhi 6, opposite Abhishek Bachchan. This movie also did not fair well, but her acting was highly praised! The Kapoor lass proved third time lucky, when her 2010 release I Hate Luv Storys, opposite Imran Khan made it big with the audiences. Her next movies, Aisha opposite Abhay Deol and the more recent Thank You with a multi star cast were moderate successes.

Sonam Kapoor's next releases include Mausam opposite Shahid Kapur and Players which has a multi star cast.

However, her biggest forte since becoming a glam doll, has been the outer periphery. With numerous magazine covers, and some of the grandest endorsements under her belt, Sonam is an icon to associate with, most famous for setting trends apart. She made her first appearance at the 64th Cannes Film Festival this year representing L'Oreal, the brand she endorses in India, as co-ambassador with the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The yet to release Salman-Asin starrer, Ready, has already been creating waves across the country owing to its thumping soundtrack. The makers of the same are looking to leave no stone unturned in promoting this highly awaited flick of theirs.

At a recent press conference, the makers of the film announced the 'Ready' concert, which is said to see a huge turnout of over 10,000 fans from across the country, all eager to see their favorite superstar Salman Khan on stage grooving to the energetic music of Ready. An initiative of T-Series and 3rd Rock Entertainment, the event is scheduled for the 2nd of June, at the Tulip Star Hotel in Mumbai's crowded Juhu.

The concert, which is aiming to gain mass hysteria, is even gearing up for an exclusive fashion show for the attending audience and media with over 40 models from across the country walking the ramp. The concert shall also see Shibani Kashyap, Trip Recipe and DJ Ramji Gulati keeping the fans on the edge of their seats with some great upbeat music. Along with Salman, co-actor Asin and music director Pritam are also said to be preparing to set the stage afire that night.

Preity's Adoption!

The Zinta-Amrohi will and biography controversy has sure created a buzz.

Some months ago, we had reported Preity becoming a benefactor in Amrohi's will for significant sum of assets.

For the uninitiated, here's how the history goes. In a legal suit filed by Shandar Amrohi (s/o late filmmaker Kamaal Amrohi) last year, where he placed claims against his sister Rukhsar and her son Waseem for forgery and document tampering with regard to some family property, Pretity Zinta supported Amrohi, to the extent of eventually helping him win the case. Ever since, the two have maintained a close bond, with Shandar treating Zinta like a daughter.

So much, that news actually pronounced Preity to be a formally 'adopted' daughter of the man.

However, with talks of Amrohi's biographical account - titled From Nowhere To Somewhere - coming to print, and in particular a chapter that deals mostly with the life and facts (read: inside scoops) of Preity's life, more stir has been met. It has been heard that the bubbly actress was rather upset to find out how her personal matters were going to be made public as such. Additionally, she has quashed any notions of being 'adopted' by anyone, or featuring any advantage in Amrohi's will.

For the uninitiated, B-town's original Casanova Ranbir Kapoor was heard to have taken a fancy for Kingfisher Calendar model Angela Johnson some recent time ago and what followed in the aftermath was another media blowout over another Ranby linked alleged relationship. Which was, just like most others, conveniently tagged 'good friends'.

The latest public revelation from Chennai-born, Iceland raised lass Johnson over the rumors being very much true has set off the mills to churn gossip headlines once more. Says Angela, that she in fact did go out with Ranbir Kapoor, for a while, the two of them content with casual dating. In her own words, the precise bond the duo shared was just a normal guy-girl hangout.

Having her own reputation in the modeling world as quite the poser while facing the lens, Angela, upon being showcased in glam shots alongside the Kapoor scion has risen in popularity ranks; and many tongues have wagged openly in tinsel town, consequently, about her easy access to instant fame on the account.

The somewhat incredible extra bit of gossip revolves around Johnson's similar bonding with BTown's other hottie, Shahid Kapur - the lad, who is just past his second heartbreak and in lamenting transit of the same. News has it, that while Ranbir was dismising all speculations about a scene between Angela and himself before the media, the lady herself was engaging in flirtations with the other Kapur in indulgent socials. How far she succeeded at that, is not quite known.

Just two months away from her next release, Jacqueline Fernandez certainly seems to be hot property in Bollywood! But whilst the actress is currently juggling not one, but four projects, she has revealed that it wasn't too long ago she had seriously considered leaving the industry.

The Sri Lankan actress made her debut with Aladin in 2009, for which she walked away with the IIFA 2010 Best Female Debut Award. Unfortunately her 2010 offering, Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, disappointed fans and critics alike, and whilst she certainly added some 'oomph' to the Housefull track, "Aapka Kya Hoga", it was a while before any further projects materialised.

The actress admitted that it was the waiting game that made it difficult for her, especially as she had no connections in the industry and was still very new. After almost a year without any offers she considered calling it quits, deciding that maybe Bollywood really wasn't for her, but was finally encouraged by close friends to stay on.

It seems to have paid of as Jackie is preparing for her summer release - Murder 2. She also seems to have impressed Sajid Khan who selected her for the cast of Housefull 2 whilst Milap Zaveri has signed the actress for two projects in 2012.

Well, it looks like Dhanno's all saddled up and ready to take over a theater near you, do catch her in all four of her upcoming releases lest she opts to gallop away from B-town once more!

Third Time's a Charm

It seems that director Farah Khan has found a close companionship with Salman Khan lately. In fact, they're so close that she even considers him to be her lucky mascot nowadays. An onus that was bagged by none other than King Khan for quite the while, if one will recall.

In the more recent past, Salman and Farah have mutually appeared on each others television shows - Bigg Boss, Dus Ka Dum, Dance India Dance, to name some.

From Salman's point of view, this has been primarily in the interest of promoting his films - Dabangg and Wanted - which incidentally have both gone on to become mega blockbusters at BO.

This time round, as Salman paid a visit to the sets of Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega again, for his upcoming film Ready, he brought home cooked dinner for everyone.

Since this is the third time that Salman is making appearance on the said show, no doubt he's hoping for the proverbial charm to work into another blockbusters in tandem.

Minissha in trouble?

Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba was reportedly detained by the custom officials at the Mumbai International Airport on Wednesday! Apparently, the actress had not declared the gold and diamond jewelery that accompanied her. When found, she claimed that the high-valued items did not belong to her. She was said to have been carrying ornaments worth over 50 Lakhs.

When questioned about her non-declaration of the jewelery found in her possession, the lass claimed that she was unaware of the procedure requiring her to declare any accompanying jewelery. Minissha, who walked the prestigious red carpet at Cannes, stated that the valuables were handed over to her by a certain jewelery brand in lieu of promotional purposes at Cannes, hence admitting that the ornaments were not her own.

The actress, who landed at the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport at Mumbai, from her visit to the Cannes Film Festival, was said to have been questioned for a painstaking 16 hours, after which she was allowed to leave after her official statement was recorded. She is likely to be called in for a second round of interrogation in a couple of days.

Action is yet to be taken against young diva, after a verification of her statement.

Carelessness, ignorance or crime, here's hoping that Minissha can wriggle her way out of this one!

The only lonely bachelor among his co-stars, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar, in his upcoming film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Abhay Deol has been inspired to make a promise that whenever he decides to tie the knot, he'll take a month long break from everything and leave for a trip.

The promise was made to Hrithik and Farhan at the launch of the first theatrical trailer for the upcoming film. Since he is the only member of the trio who is single and free to mingle, he plans to do what all three of them do in the film. In it, his character goes out on a road trip after getting engaged, and the vicarious experience has made Abhay a fan of "bachelor trips".

Dhak Dhak Takes Over for Dream Girl

Aishwarya Rai, who had almost been finalized to step into the shoes of Hema Malini in the remake of the widely loved classic Satte Pe Satta, is said to have been replaced by the dancing diva, Madhuri Dixit. Satte Pe Satta will see Madhuri starring opposite Sanjay Dutt after over a decade. The two have, together, charmed audiences in the earlier years of their careers with blockbusters such as 'Saajan' and 'Khalnayak'.

Soham Shah, who will be directing this film, is apparently extremely thrilled to have Madhuri on board. We hear Shah's first choice for this movie had always been the 90's superstar, but was apprehensive in offering her Hemaji's role given that Mads is known to be selective about giving her nod to any script. But with Madhuri's instant approval of this much anticipated film, the movie is gearing up to hit the floors soon.

Hrithik to do 3 roles in Krrish 3!

Hrithik fans have already decided that Krrish 3 is going to be on their must-watch list; now they have at least two more reasons to look forward to the film. It has been revealed that the actor will be portraying not one, but all of 3 roles in the third of the superhero series directed by his dad, Rakesh Roshan.

Who exactly will we see him as? Well, Hrithik will play the father, the son, and also the grandson in the movie. While those of us who can't get enough of him consider this quite an arduous feat, the ever-dedicated Duggu considers it nothing.

Apparently, Hrithik wanted to take on even more roles in the movie, including that of the villain. But rumor has it that daddy Rakesh's first choice for villain role was Prince star, Vivek Oberoi, and as a result, he too is now part of Krrish 3. Sources claim that Rakesh didn't want Hrithik to do the villain role as he felt it would be excessive. As for the reason Vivek got the role, we hear it's because the senior Mr. Roshan is a close friend of Vivek's dad, Suresh, and he was eager to work with his son.

The filming for Krrish 3 commences at the end of this year.

Sonu bares his chest for PETA!

Sonu Sood was recently seen baring his chest in an advertisement for the popular animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India! After Shahid Kapoor, the Dabangg villain is the newest celeb to join the bandwagon in order to promote vegetarianism.

The ad features Sonu clad in a pair of low-waisted jeans along with the tag line: 'Strong Body. Tender Heart. Go Vegetarian'.

According to sources, Sonu was heard saying he is thankful to be a part of the PETA family and that everyone should be aware of their duties towards animals. The actor, who is a hardcore vegetarian himself in real life, was also heard saying that everyone should become vegetarian to make our planet a better place.

In fact, buzz has it that while Sonu was shooting for Dabangg, even fellow actor Salman Khan had tried to make him taste some of his home cooked chicken biryani. But Sood was adamant and had refused to take the bait!

So, how does Sonu manage to maintain those six pack abs, minus any non-vegetarian food? Sonu gives the credit to following the right diet. He was heard saying if one follows the right diet, veggies can help one get their dream body.

Accidents galore

Rumor has it that the sets of Mausam are haunted, thanks to a string of spooky incidents that have recently plagued the cast of the film.

It all started with Shahid Kapoor injuring his right arm. How did it happen, you ask? While shooting at the CRPF grounds in Goregaon, it just so happened that a Ferris wheel came flying down towards him. It's not as bad as it sounds, take a deep breath! The whole Ferris wheel didn't hurl itself his way, just one of the boxes that fell apart and detached from the overall structure. Luckily for Shahid, he wasn't injured too severely and moved out of the way before his face was badly bruised.

When Pankaj Kapoor saw what had just taken place, there was no reaction from him; he couldn't believe what had happened. Shahid, however, kept his cool and assured everyone that he was fine.

After Shahid's incident, the doctor who was coming to check up on Shahid's arm had an accident with an oncoming bike. And if that wasn't enough, later in the night, two lightmen were injured when a rostrum held 70 feet above the ground gave out with them on it, resulting them with minor bruises.

The mausam on the sets of Mausam seems to be rather rough while the film is under production; we can only hope that with the amount of hype the film's already generated, this dangerous trend doesn't carry over to packed theatres upon its release!

Asin to star opposite SRK

Leaving behind the likes of Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, 'tis Asin Thottumkal who has grabbed the leading role opposite Shahrukh Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala's adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's recent hot seller, 2 States.

Seems like Asin, who previously starred in blockbuster Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan, then in London Dreams opposite Salman Khan (and Ready opposite him as well lined up); is on a spree like no one else adorning her kitty of offers with 'Khan packs'!

Notably, Asin has also bagged the role of the leading lady in Sajid Nadiadwala's Houseful 2 and now with 2 States, Asin will become the first amongst her competing contemporaries - Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor - to have worked with the three giant Khans plus Akshay Kumar.

Rumor-mills also revealed that Vidya Balan too was considered for this role, since the lead lady was wished to have been a Southern belle, but Asin finally bagged the spot.

The actress can't help but be excited to be a part of a film, which whilst co-starring SRK, is also to be Vishal Bhardwaj directorial.

Not too long ago, the media was ablaze when Ranbir Kapoor's ex-flames Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor dragged his name through the mud on the popular talk show, Koffee with Karan.

While the news has started to fade away, Sonam Kapoor has resurfaced on tabloid pages. Much to everyone's surprise, she is now all praises for Ranbir.

Soon after the controversial episode had aired, it was reported that Ranbir's dad, Rishi Kapoor, had taken matters into his hands. He was heard talking to Sonam's dad, Anil Kapoor, about the matter. It may be fair to guess, then, that Sonam's tune has changed because she has been pressurized to speak so. Since Sonam is trying to be the good family girl, comments like, "Ranbir is one of my best buddies," come as no surprise.

Farah to turn Heroine?

Bollywood's ace choreographer, Farah Khan, is rumoured to have been offered a leading spot in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, Shirin Farhad. The film, which is being claimed to become a Bela (Bhansali's sister) directorial, shall be a genteel love story of a Parsi couple.

Aged 40 now, Farah was naturally quite apprehensive about taking up this prestigious Bhansali offer, but with constant persuasion from the film makers camp, Farah is heard to have given her nod.

For the record, Bhansali had not shared the greatest rapport with Farah over the past few years. However, that prejudice aside, he thinks Khan has the right amount of Parsi quotient and a fitting natural personality as needed for his movie's female lead. Bhansali opines that Farah's smart wit and perkiness compelled him to offer her the role of 'Shirin', in this home venture.

Well, will Lady Khan, who has given the Hindi cinema some notable immortals in form of jigs and movies alike, be able to pull of a stunner in this newly thrown challenge? If the impact of the name 'Khan' has anything to do with onscreen skill, Farah is here to stay and shine!

Angry young man back

With Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap ready to be releasing on July 1st, the producers of the film are getting the first teaser of the film ready for the audiences. The surprise factor comes from the claims that Amitabh Bachchan's famous "angry man" image is going to be brought back with the teaser!

The marketing team will be working hard on this project because they plan on creating an extraordinary campaign for this film that will force everyone to take notice. Working together, the team is coming up with a teaser that will concentrate on Big B's "angry young man" avatar, which will then lead to him singing a line from the title song.

The print teasers that are being prepared are going to use the silhouette of Big B along with dialogues, signature styles and images from some of his most hit films such as Deewar, Agneepath, Shahenshah, and Hum. Eventually, this will all lead to the look that Amitabh will be donning in Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap. The final look was released on May 16 while the teaser will be released during the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians.

The main idea behind this campaign is to cash in on nostalgia for Big B's iconic image of past decades, since the audience hasn't seen him in such a character in a long period of time. In the film, Big B will be seen as the angry not-so-young man, who is nonetheless young at heart.

Ranbir miffed with Ranveer

It seems like Ranveer Singh, who shot straight to fame with his Band Baaja Baarat, has definitely learned what it takes it to be in the news.

After his tiff with Kareena Kapoor, he has now offended the high-flying B-Town Casanova and his senior in the film industry, Ranbir Kapoor, in a party organized by the latter himself.

While Ranbir was already upset about the fact that his parents and his ex-es were not attending the party, Ranveer added to his woes by commenting on his affair with Deepika. Apparently, Ranveer commented that the line "Aaj mere liye chair kheech raha hai, Kal meri skirt kheechega..." from the very popular title song of Dum Maaro Dum was intended for none other than Ranbir himself!

Naturally, Ranbir didn't seem much happy about it and he made it evident by asking Ranveer to shut up. In fact, Ranveer's 'good friend' Anushka also asked Ranveer to keep quiet but Ranveer wasn't in a mood to obey.

According to sources, the whole incident left Ranbir in fumes and even after the party he looked quite offended and in no mood to forgive and forget Ranveer's offensive behavior.

The party ended, music and alcohol levels came down and everyone went their respective ways. But, chances are that Ranveer will not end up partying with Ranbir for a long time!

Anushka too high on demand

Lately there have been talks of the successful actress Anushka Sharma being a bit too much of a diva! Apparently, her ego has inflated a bit after the stupendous success of her previous films with the audience.

A recent issue has even led to a fellow actress complaining about how high Anushka believes herself to be in the world of Bollywood. Usually while a cinematographer is setting up for lighting, the actor in the frame has to stand under the light so that the angle and amount of light projected can be perfected. Well, at the sets of Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Anushka had better things to do and thinks that such a thing is a waste of time for her and has her assistant stand under the light. The assistant was the same height as Anushka, but the problem is that each individual requires a different amount and angle of light to highlight their best features!.

Because of such behaviors, her co-stars are laughing at her ignorance and flighty attitude!

All we have to say is that be careful dear Anushka, because 'Pride goeth before a fall'!

Music Review: Ready

Hot off the overwhelming success of last year's blockbuster Dabangg, audiences and industry folk alike are gearing up for Salman Khan's next release, Ready, with lofty expectations. Given that the soundtrack from his previous outing was also a landmark of sorts and, for better or for worse, immortalized the word Munni, will the music of Ready enjoy the same fate? Read on to find out!

While other recent successful Sallu starrers have had featured the tunes of Sajid-Wajid, the majority of Ready's music has been composed by Pritam. There is also one contribution from Southern songster Devi Sri Prasad, who gave music for the eponymous Telugu film of which Ready is a remake. Lyrics have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Neelesh Misra, Ashish Pandit and Kumaar.

The album, which consists of four 'original' tracks and four remixes, gets its feet on the ground with "Character Dheela". The promo for this song has already made waves for its creative picturisation, and it's also garnered press for allegations of copyright infringement against both its melody and lyrics. Both the positive and negative publicity seem to be doing the song favors, though it hardly needs them because the catchy rhythm as well as Neeraj Shridhar and Amrita Kak's enthusiastic vocals are sure to make it a fast favorite among the masses. Save for one colorful reference to 'Munni' and 'Sheila', Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics are cringe-inducingly crass. Overall, the energetic beat along with the "Sallu factor" seen in the promos ensure that it will remain an earworm for at least a few months.

Next up is requisite romantic number "Humko Pyaar Hua", sung by K.K. and screeched by Tulsi Kumar. A 'been there, heard that' tune, it brings to mind Pritam's own "Teri Ore" from Singh is Kingg and "Khudaya Khair" from Billu Barbar. That would not have been such a bad thing since both of its predecessors were pleasant numbers, but Tulsi dampens K.K.'s efforts and the song's repeat value with her painfully misplaced pitch. Thankfully she learns from her mistake later on in the album, but for the time being, this track is still somewhat difficult on the ears. The repetitive lyrics don't do it any favors, either.

Next up is "Dhinka Chika", Devi Sri Prasad's Mumbai-fied version of his hit number "Ringa Ringa" from the original Ready. The song is an out-and-out entertainer that emerges as a real winner, and it will probably be even more so once audiences see Sallu shake to it in his inimitable style. The goofy lyrics describe romance plans for every month of the year and make for a fun sing-along, while breezy vocals from Mika and Amrita Kak lend it even more likability. The bouncy beat has a Maharashtrian flavor to it that we don't hear often as often as the trademark Pritam categories filled by the prior tracks, so it really stands out from the pack.

Pritam takes the wheel again for the last of the 'originals', which is a festive dance track called "Meri Ada Bhi". It starts out with a sampling of the Musarrat Nazir classic "Laung Gavacha" that sadly doesn't carry on for the rest of the track in spite of having been so well incorporated. That foot-tapping start gives way to what becomes an awkward attempt at mixing bhangra beats with a Qawwali dhun. Something sounds awry upon the initial listening, as if the tempo and tune are of different songs, but it grows on you with two or three repetitions. It is further salvaged by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's dependable playback and a new and improved Tulsi Kumar, now singing within her range. It is sure to become a favorite wedding/party song of the year.

These four are followed by one remix a piece, none of which is sufficiently different to warrant its own description. Rather than this redundancy, the album would have benefited from a few more spunky originals. Overall, the album certainly meets the criteria of a masala-packed Sallu starrer, with its abundance of tracks that are both danceable and laughable at once. However, it neither retains the memorability of Dabangg's music, nor does it make a lasting impression on the filmy soundtrack scene as a whole. Here's hoping Pritam breaks out of these predictable molds for his next venture!

Bipasha Basu: Controversy's 'Amar' Child!

If you thought all steam had been spent from the controversial quarters in Bipasha Basu's life, what with her candid acceptance of having parted ways with long time beau John Abraham and moved on, well you were so underestimating the Bong babe's life affairs.

After Supreme Court lifted the ban (which had been in standing since 2006) from release of a set of clandestine taped conversations of former SP Minister Amar Singh, the juiciest gossip revealed was in the one which is allegedly a phone chat between the old Minister and the actress.

A flirtatious conversation, to remain strictly euphemistic, which is embarrassingly inappropriate to become publicly accessible content.

To quote an excerpt from the same, as made available by Reuters:

Male voice: "Lekin time nikalenge". (But I will find the time). Female voice: "Okay sweetie".

Male voice: "Nice to have remembered an old fossil like me".

Female voice: "Old fossil like you?...Does it matter?" The man responds, saying: "Yes, it matters between the legs." The woman bursts out laughing: "Ha...ha...ha".

Unsurprisingly, Bipasha Basu has risen to her self defense and denied to be the woman in those tapes at all, although the female voice identifies herself by the same name. Apart from lashing out at the unethical conduct of dailies and national press who have printed news of the same and roped her into the chapter without seeking clarification from her, Bips has also taken to the ever faithful micro-blogging site Twitter to voice her denial of the claims, and her absolute disgust at being disgraced as such. She has challenged anyone who has heard the tapes, to prove the voice in the recording is her own.

Quoting her tweet:

'Pls request u all to go n hear d conversation 1st n then if u still think its me, I openly challenge anyone to prove it is me!' [(c) Twitter]

In another statement the actress claimed to have only heard the conversation on the internet after being goaded by sudden barrage of questions from the media over the matter, post the release of the tapes. She has gone as far as to clarify, that a mere conversation with the minister has never taken place, let alone this particular infamous one.

Rani was all set to grace the event with ace designer and friend Sabyasachi Mukherjee, to the point where she had even decided what she was going to wear. While others chose to don on western outfits, this husky-voiced actress wanted to make her fans happy and finalised on wearing a saree on the global red carpet, thus picking a Sabya saree for the mega event.

However, things did not go as planned as Rani informed Chivas that she couldn't make it to the festival due to the ill health of her father. She apologized for not being there, citing that she couldn't leave her father in his time of need. This would have been Rani's first time gracing the festival on May 18th.

The song displayed Brit-babe Katrina Kaif, inhabiting the dancing techniques of Helen, Shakira, Madhuri Dixit, Raveena Tondon among others and in the end, producing a delightful entertain which gained her an immediate appraise of fans and dance critics alike. Choreographed by Farah Khan in collaboration with Geeta Kapoor; this song stood out to be the limelight of the film, despite the film's disappointing failure at the Box Office.

Whilst the former song showcased the lead of the film in a sexy avatar, this particular song, which followed the model-for-a-song routine, stood as the throne of the most heard-performed-watched song of the year, leaving behind a hoard full of tough competitors. We. of course, are talking of "Munni Badnam Hui" which was spectacularly performed by Mallaika Arora Khan. It's a song, set in a crummy village and performed to entertain a crude politician, intervened by a Dabangg police officer. After keeping himself away from the craze that followed the 'six-pack-abs' trend, a trend that started from Shahrukh Khan in Om Shanti Om to Aamir in his blockbuster Ghajini, it's now Ajay Devgn's turn to show his toned muscle power in his next with Rohit Shetty.

Ajay is one such actor who relies much on his acting skills rather than particular looks to carve a niche for himself in Bollywood industry. But for good friend Rohit Shetty's Singham - a Hindi remake of a Tamil film of the same name - Devgn allowed personal physique to play a more important role.

The 42 year old actor, is now vigorously pumping it away at a gym to get those much sought after rippling muscles, which of course is the requirement of his character. Devgn plays a cop settled in a village of Maharashtra.

As revealed by sources, Ajay hit the gym with pure sincerity and passionately practised for three months under the renowned and hardworking trainer, Prashant Sawant.

Joining the already beautiful bunch on board, which included Asin Thottumkal, Jacqueline Fernandez and Zarine Khan, is the up and coming starlet Shazahn Padamsee. She was last seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's Dil to Baccha Hai Ji.

Shazahn made her debut in Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year in 2009, and in 2010 she appeared in the Telugu film Orange.

Double Dhamaal's RS 1.5 cr Casino!

Whilst lavish expenditure in Bollywood isn't unheard of, Director Indra Kumar has gone one step further to give Mumbai its first ever casino!

The extravagant unit, based in Mehboob Studios in Bandra, reportedly cost Rs 1.5 crores to build and furbish, and is only required for a small portion of the movie. However that has not prevented Indra Kumar from leaving no stone unturned and being involved with every minute detail to ensure that the casino looks as elaborate as possible.

Modelled after some of the best casinos in the world, the set is part of the director's next flick, Double Dhamaal, which is sequel of his 2007 hit, Dhamaal. The whole cast are set to reprise their roles for the movie, slated to release on June 24th, with new additions being Kangana Ranaut and Mallika Sherawat.

With a Rs 1.5 crores spendthrift, one wonders, wouldn't it be cheaper to actually find a real casino?

For all of you who were impressed by the Dabaang girl Sonakshi Sinha in the space of a mere debut blockbuster, her sign up for a future project opposite Action Kumar Akshay last year was certainly great news.

And now, BollyCurry brings you a couple visual teasers straight from the sets of Joker, the said Akki-Sonakshi venture. A Farah Khan home production, with hubby Shirish Kunder having written the script that he shall also be directing, this movie shall be in 3D, having drawn inspiration from the widely popular and Oscar sweeping Hollywood flick Avatar.

And on that note, Joker promises to be a never-before-seen experience, if words of the film makers are to be believed, with comic book characters and elements of fantasy at play.

It is being heard, that extensive pains have been taken in the construction of sets in Chandigarh which Shirish claims are an unprecedented for Bollywood and it's millions of viewers. More about the movie genre, or storyline, Kunder refuses to divulge, deeming it too early to spill the beans.

For now, there is this capture of Sonakshi Sinha in chaniya choli and heart shaped glares is up for first impressions and remarks. Then there is the other which captures Akki and Sona in action, grooving bindaas with a bunch of white women in the backdrop having donned the holy saffron robes!

Mozez Singh Misbehaves With SRK!

Mr. Cool and media's favorite child Shahrukh Khan too has his moments of losing composure. One such occasion was a recent bash thrown by actor Sanjay Kapoor for his wife Maheep Kapoor's birthday.

As the gossip goes, a guest who went by the name of Mozez Singh misbehaved with a few woman at the said occasion, and one of them happened to be, Sohail Khan's (Salman Khan's brother), wife. While King Khan resolved to keep his reaction under check initially, things did get out of hand when Mozez continued to bother the woman, causing Khan to lose his temper and shove at Singh.

Before the matter could get out of hands however, the two were pried apart, and went their own way. Maheep, to her credit, also ensured that SRK and Mozez called civil truce before either had left the venue.

However, trouble was not over. A little later, Shahrukh, Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar were all in the lobby waiting for the elevator to leave for their homes when hell-raiser Mozez reappeared and shot some rude remarks targeting Khan again. Provoked a second time, SRK grabbed his collar and the action only abruptly ended courtesy of Duggu who intervened before a scene was created.

SRK and Hrithik were later on seen posing for the media outside.

Given, that this particular Khan is not the kind to get into social brawls, we can't help but be surprised by the particular turn of events!

Talks of this movie have been in news from around the same time as Dhobi Ghat and Peepli Live, when Delhi Belly was listed along with the former two hit releases as Aamir's future projects in tow.

With the release date being finalized for July 1st this year, the first poster of the movie now finally makes appearance.

And in every element, we dare say, to surprise the audience! While nephew Imran Khan takes the center forefront of the poster in a rather intriguingly odd chalk faced and and visibly bruised avatar, to his right is debutant Kunal Roy Kapoor - brother of Aditya and Sidharth Roy Kapoor.

Debut movie for Krishna Bhatt!

Directer Vikram Bhatt, whose next release is speculated to be Haunted 3D, could not be happier. Why, you may ask?

His daughter, Krishna Bhatt, who has previously assisted him often enough on his movies, is soon to have her own debut! While shooting for Haunted 3D in Ooty, the senior Bhatt needed someone to play piano for a scene. 16-year-old Krishna was a perfect fit.

Vikram explained that for the said scene, the female lead is meant to take piano lessons, and he needed someone who could play the instrument. Krishna, who was accompanying her father on yet another project, was conveniently available.

Now, both father and daughter are happy about this chance arrangement for her onscreen debut!

SRK returns to the small screen!

If there is a mega star who never forgets to own the roots he hails from, it's the ever modest Baadshah Khan, SRK.

Yet another time, he bids to return to the small screen, after after having reigned the big one for close to two decades. His very first encounters with the world of acting had been via TV media in shows like Circus and Fauji; more recent ones were anchor stints, and most recently the superstar shot for Colors' newest show, Sasural Simar Ka.

Apparently, the star was quite excited about his come-back what he calls 'home' and hence sort out some time from his choc-a-bloc schedule for the shoot of the show which took place in Khan's Bandra residence, Mannat.

His agreement to do a cameo in the series is entirely credited to the plot, which appealed the star Khan in an amusing way. It revolves around the story of a girl who's willing to go any lengths to make her dreams of becoming a professional dancer come true!

Barring his hosting of shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati, Kya Aap Paachvi Paas Se Tez Hai, Zor Ka Zhatka, this is SRK's first appearance in a daily-soap since he lodged himself as a star in B-Town.

In Sasural Simar Ka, he plays a judge in a reality show Chak Dhoom Dhoom, wherein Simar strives to be one of the participating dancers without bringing it to her family's notice.

While the trend of doing cameos in daily soaps has sort of picked up over the last couple years - Rani Mukherjee-Vidya Balan (Naa Aana Iss Desh Meri Laado); Abhishek Bachchan (Balika Vadhu); Salman Khan (CID), Akshay Kumar (Sasural Genda Phool)... among others - this is certainly SRK's first time.

And while in all other cases the motivation is promotion of upcoming films, SRK does it purely in the spirit of the show itself!

SRK's next releases!

King Khan of Bollywood has not had a release for almost a year now.

After his last movie, the box-office blockbuster My Name Is Khan, SRK fans have felt a lull. His fans may be wondering if SRK has been pulling off an Aamir with this sudden one movie a year funda - but the wait is finally almost over!

And although the hiatus may have been excruciating, there is no doubt that his upcoming releases are going to be huge. The shooting of his home production, RA.One, has been making news for months now, as has been Akhtar's sequel Don 2. The movies set to release on the 26th of October and the 23rd of December respectively.

A lesser known fact maybe that the budgets of both films are estimated to be over Rs. 200 crores. Which are speculated to be the biggest box-office figures riding on any actor thus far this year.

Added to this fact is that SRK releases are generally 'safe'. No other movies, especially by his main competitors Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, are slated for release at the same time. "Ek tha Tiger" brings Salman & Katrina back together!

We here at BollyCurry earlier reported that the ex-honeys Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were in talks to do a movie together. These talks have now been confirmed.

It is official, Salman and Kat will be back together on-screen for Yash Raj Films.

YRF's next, to be directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra, is said to be a romantic thriller. The leads of the upcoming film, titled Ek Tha Tiger, will obviously be the much-loved pairing of Salman and Kat. The story was written by Aditya, and the screenplay and dialogues have been written by Kabir and Neelesh Misra. Pritam will provide the music score.

When talking about this newest project, Yash Chopra said that it is a very happy moment for him to work with Salman Khan, having earlier worked with his father Salim on many occasions such as Deewar, Trishul and Kaala Patthar. On the other hand, this is Salman's first time working with YRF.

Apparently, Salman is much honored to be working with Yash Chopra, as he has worked with his dad in the past. He further went on to explain that he had been approached numerous times in the past by Aditya, but none of the projects panned out. However, the script of this new movie drew him in and he is extremely excited to face the challenge that the role poses.

The film will start shooting in early July and is slated to be released in mid-2012.

Hook-ups and break-ups are common in Tinsel Town, especially if your name is Ranbir Kapoor. Post his break-up with long term girlfriend, Deepika Padokone, this Kapoor lad is almost seen with a different girl seen his hands every week, a feat that surely accredits him the 'Casanova' title.

After the rumoured link-up with Rockstar co-star, Nargis Fakhri, she now seems to have been given the boot as the heartthrob of millions has been spotted being extra 'friendly' with model Angela Johnson, winner of Kingfisher Calendar Girl 2011 Hunt.

The two were recently spotted having a gala time in a nightclub. Prior to that, they rocked up at buddy Anuskha Sharma's birthday party together and have also been seen sighted at a lounge bar in Colaba.

Bolly Telly Look Alikes- I

You might remember the last time we'd gone rounding up the strikingly similar faces between stars of Bollywood and Hollywood.
Well, we decided we could do the same while dealing with our biggest desi industries alone!
So here's bringing you a (whoa) long list of look alikes from B-Town and Telly-town!

First up the pair of Sikander Kher who debuted with Woodstock Villa (2008) which was an Indian musical thriller produced by Ekta Kapoor, and the Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal fame director, Imtiaz Ali!
Perhaps not twins, but they could sure be mistaken as first cousins - what with the long curls, and beady onyx eyes!

Priyanshu Chatterjee who has previously been the popular face of many small screen dramas, and a handful of Bollywood films, was chosen by the makers of Amitabh Bachchan's film Bhootnath, to play Big B's son in the flick, owing greatly to the resemblance this actor shares with Amitabh's real life son, Abhishek. In fact, once Priyanshu had received his makeover at the hands of the experts, Big B himself was very much surprised at how striking the similarity was - the stubble, the hair, all of it! An ironic coincidence also is that the same Priyanshu played onscreen hubby to the lovely Aishwarya Rai in her home production, Dil Ka Rishta!

Moving on from son to father, the legend of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan, too has a look alike in the industry, the actor being Sonu Sood!
So much, that dear Mrs. Bachchan Jayaji had once stated how Sonu reminded her of the younger Big B! The lean body, height and features are noticeable similarities.

It is not unknown that our Bollywood actors strive for perfection whilst shooting for a movie. To land that eventual perfect shot, it can take from one shot to countless, but it must be done to require that faultless scene our audiences would believe in. And of course, there's always the hope that the hard work will pay off in the form of a box-office hit.

On the re-take front, Lara Dutta, who will be soon seen in Amul Comedy Ka Mahamuqabla has left everyone pleasantly stunned. The bubbly actress enacted a splendid performance for the show but the shock does not end there. Lara, along with her co-star, Vinay Pathak, delivered a flawless one-take gag!

The director along with the crew of the show were all ready for the different takes that were likely to ensue with the celeb's performance, they had even arranged for a tele-prompter to help Lara. But the actress, cast them all aside, neither needing any re-dos nor did she need to refer to a prompter.

While the world zoomed into the fairytale marriage of Prince Williams and Kate Middleton, this couple tied the knot on 30 April, in a traditional and quiet South Indian ceremony in Kalahatti.

The bride looked elegant, dressed in a white sari with red border, topped off with zari work while the groom wore a simple white kurta and dhoti.

It seems simplicity was the main theme of this affair since sources tell us the union was solemnized with the pair seated under a mango tree and the guests were served a traditional South Indian vegetarian fare, cooked by Kalki's mother, on banana leaves!

According to sources, the guest list was limited to around 40 family members and a few close friends. Anurag's brother Abhinav, director of Dabangg, was present along with Udaan director Vikramaditya Motwane and wife Ishita, Rahul Bhatt, Vikas Bahl, who worked with Anurag on Dev D and actor-composer Piyush Mishra.

The celebrations continued into the evening after which the newlyweds returned to Mumbai. Buzz has it that the pair have put their honeymoon plans on hold to accommodate Anurag's next film Shaitan, which also stars Kalki, due to release on June 10.

Fardeen's big plans!

Fardeen Khan, who was last seen in a leading role in Dulha Mil Gaya, seems to be missing from our screens lately.

Wondering where the lad went?

After the actor's last release, which disastrously bombed at the Box-Office, Fardeen has been lying low. However, it has been heard that he has not been sitting idle, lamenting over his failure. Fardeen in fact has been working to set up his own production house, hence the little break from his acting career. Wanting to make his production house grand, the actor had to given his appearance in front of the camera a lil' rest to give his undivided attention to this new venture. Fardeen so far has kept a tight lip over the details in his master plan but it has been learnt that he ambitiously plans to release approximately five to six movies at one time.

No wonder it's taking him so long!

Also if rumors are to be believed, Fardeen is working very hard to recreate the 80's classic, Qurbani. He wishes to tribute this movie to his late father and Bollywood legend, Feroz Khan, who passed away on 27th April, 2009, as this movie was very close to him.

Fardeen's comeback is a definite, albeit a timeline. However, whenever he does return, we sure hope he does so with a mighty bang! Until then, here's wishing him all the best for all his big plans!

Anu Malik, one of Bollywood's popular music composers, has made enough headlines over the years, for his debatable virtue of candor. Another time, added to countless other occasions, the composer has not shied away from voicing his opinions.

Reportedly, the man is unhappy with fellow music composer, Pritam Chakraborty. He states (and accuses) that Pritam's latest ripple creating instant hit, 'Character Dheela Hai', filming Salman-Zareen, is a rip off of Malik's older composition, 'Mohabbat Naam Hai Kiska', from Ajnabee.

Malik has stated that the entire tempo and tune of the song is a carbon copy of his own composition. What's ironic is that Anu Malik had already congratulated film Ready's director Aneez Bazmee for this musical success, before realizing he was in fact lauding his own work. So certain and serious is he about the matter, that Malik plans to seek legal involvement, if rights are not credited/restored to him otherwise.

In the momentum of his tirade against plagiarism, he went on to express his disapproval of Pritam's recent contemporary adaptation of old classic 'Dum Maro Dum', emphasizing how the latter had failed to accredit the legendary R.D Burman for the original.

Quite honestly, we at BollyCurry are a little unsympathetic of Anu Malik's allegation. Isn't this the man who beats all drums in favor of creative 'inspirations'?!

Well, dear Mr. Malik seems to conveniently forget what people famously say about the infamous Karma, doesn't he?!
